Kanye West, who switched his name to Ye, said on X17onlineVideo, “We’re moving toward the future.” He confirmed that he is taking action on his presidential bid. Ye stated that he is collaborating on his campaign with Milo Yiannopoulos, a far-right commentator, who previously worked for U.S. representative Marjorie Taylor Greene.
The Video
“This is Milo right here, working on the campaign,” Ye says in the video while wearing merchandise with the words “YE 24” written on it. “Is that an announcement,” a reporter asked. Yiannopoulos humorously said “I guess it is. Thanks, I accept.”
He was then asked if he was running for president, “Yes,” Ye clarified. “It’s simple ’cause ain’t nobody can tell me, you know, ‘you should say this, you shouldn’t say that,’ you know? It’s just we’re moving towards the future.”
The statement came after Ye’s buddy Akon’s speculation on his friend’s controversial comments. Despite Ye’s anti-Semitic remarks and the “White Lives Matter” T-shirt, were all part of a bid to win over voters who would otherwise support Donald Trump’s bid for re-election in 2024. Donald Trump’s re-election bid in 2024 was aided by the influence of voters.
“In order for Kanye to have a shot, he needs to have a piece of that base. This is how he’s getting it. And he knows this!”
Ye’s 2020 Run
Ye ran for president back in 2020 as an independent candidate. In the dozen states where his name was on the ballot, he received approximately 60,000 votes.
- West released his first presidential campaign ad on Oct. 12, 2020, and asked activists to start writing him in on the ballot.
- On Sept. 16, 2020, an Idaho court ruled, he could stay on the ballot as an independent presidential candidate, despite being registered as a Republican in Wyoming.
- On Sept. 11, 2020, a Wisconsin judge upheld the state elections commission’s decision to remove
- West from the ballot after an aide filed his paperwork after the 5 p.m. filing deadline.
- The Arizona Supreme Court ruled on Sept. 8, 2020, that West’s electors were invalid because they did not submit a document listing their names and political parties.
- West spent approximately $7 million on his presidential campaign, according to documents made with the Federal Election Commission on Sept. 4, 2020.
Yiannopoulos Allegations
Yiannopoulos, who is no longer on Twitter, has disappeared since 2017, just before he allegedly advocated for pedophilia, claiming that sex among both 13-year-olds as well as older men can be “life-affirming.”
He had also given a statement that he asserts to be an “ex-gay” and now has decided to “demote” his husband to the status of “roommate.”
