The Chicago Bears fell short of victory on Sunday, September 18, 2022, on Sunday Night Football. The team was on a one-game winning streak after winning their season opener against the 49ers.

The Bears were outplayed Sunday on both sides of the ball, but at least they showed some signs of life. The offense moved the ball downfield as David Mongomery rushed for 122-yards against the Packers. Justin Fields rushed eight times for 20-yards and a 3-yard touchdown in the first quarter.

Against the Bear’s defense, Green Bay scored at will. Aaron Rodgers threw for 234 yards and two touchdowns, with no interceptions. The Packers had 437 total yards of offense. The Packers scored 21 unanswered points in the second quarter alone and took a commanding 24-7 lead going into the third quarter.

The Chicago Bears’ offense could not score enough points to return from the deficit they faced going into halftime. The half ended with the Packers out front 24-7.

It would have taken a miracle for the Bears to come back at that point, and they could not do so despite a fourth-quarter 28-yard run by David Mongomery and a 27-yard run by Khalil Herbert. A controversial 6-yard third and goal rush by Justin Fields where he looks to touch the pylon with the ball for an overturned touchdown.

The game’s highlight was Justin Fields connecting with former Green Bay receiver Equanimeous St. Brown for a 30-yards in the first quarter and a nine-yard toss in the second quarter. Even though the Chicago Bears were outplayed on Sunday Night Football on both sides of the ball, the running game of the Bears looked very favorable.
